MORE Great News For Melinda Thorsnes...
The Portland Art Museum has selected Melinda Thorsnes' painting "Saturday Morning 8:00 A.M." from our five-decade, mid-career retrospective of her work to include in their permanent collection. This piece was exhibited at the Portland Art Museum's 1995 Oregon Biennial and in Melinda's April 1995 one-person show, “All Day Long” at the Foster Goldstrom Gallery in New York City which was 1 of 6 shows singled out by New York Times’ art critic Pepe Karmel that month, who wrote “…brightly colored, broadly brushed paintings of Americans relaxing at home or outdoors: through Ms. Thorsnes’ eyes, this is a scary spectacle.” The vivid colors and narrative imagery of Melinda's work will be an excellent addition to the permanent collection of one of Oregon's great art museums.
Congratulations Melinda!
